Biblical Worship
Introduction
I have become use to blank expressions and “Uh, Uh, I don’t know.” I have also become quite comfortable with men and women babbling mindlessly trying to answer a simple question. I have been asking this simple question for a few years now: “What is biblical worship?” I have grown quite use to hearing anything that can be imagined. Have you ever noticed that even great exegetes sometimes back off what God is actually saying so as not to cause waves in their local churches? I have noticed that the last few weeks with one of the few pastors whom I care to listen. He has gotten to one of the toughest passages in the NT to preach. I know he is a great exegete because I have heard him nail sermon after sermon on text after text building up to this passage. I desperately know how difficult the passages are to proclaim as they are written, but those are God’s words in the Bible and we should never be afraid to preach them. But some men shrink from the task when given the ultimate trial of preaching the word of skimming over a few passages and hitting tones and terms that most seat fillers find inoffensive. The Wall Street Journal reports that the top 1% of income earners in the US now pay 40% of all collected taxes. The top 50% of income earners now pay 97% of all taxes paid. Half of all of the people in the United states now pay only 3% of the tax burden for the government.
Have you ever stopped to wondered how much taxes the top 1% pay now? the tax bill for fiscal 2008 is $3.1 Trillion. If you learned how to figure percentages in 5th grade you would realize that the top 1% of income earners in this country now pay $1.24 Trillion in taxes.
Since almost all of those funds are collected from business owners it is conceivable to estimate that this country pays and additional $1.24 Trillion in taxes because of income taxes. Consider this: If the tax burden was taken completely off of the top 1% and not shifted but completely eleminated then the federal budget could be cut by 40% and the reduction were realized down the economic ladder, then wages would rize and the taxes paid would increase overall. This has been so brilliantly demonstrated by rising tax collections with lower tax rates.
It is time for America to go to the Fair Tax.

My son Josh mows neighborhood yards and does yard work around our house for spending money. He has had a bite taken out of his profits this summer due to rising gas prices, but he is amazingly smart when it comes to the economy.
He has two things he want to purchase this calendar year for his very own. He wants a second Xbox360 and he wants a 42 inch plasma HDTV for his bedroom. He is saving his money from mowing to purchase his desired wants this year. Read the rest of this entry »
